The Beginning
Once upon a time, there was a lonely, thin, gray wolf laboring through the deepest parts of the Midwest plains. One day, the sky turned a bruised purple, rain hammered down, thunder roared, and wind gusted fiercely. The isolated mama wolf began to shake and hurriedly searched for shelter. As she neared civilization, she saw a remote gray building that emitted an unpleasant, clattering hum.
The top of the building read Frito-Lay. As she approached the building and scanned it, she found a small opening and entered. The noises made her tuck her tail and flatten her ears, and she contemplated leaving, but knew her pups would not survive the storm. She snuck into the darkest corner of the factory, behind a storage container, and rolled up into a tight ball. A couple of days later, her pups arrived. Her hands were full as she birthed a litter of six pups. As weeks went by, the pups grew. By chance, this wolf family had grown unnoticed in this corner.
